ORIGIN CAMPERS: Achieving Department of Infrastructure RAV Compliance Certification

From rugged off-road adventures to serene family getaways, Origin Campers’ range of camper trailers has become synonymous with the freedom to roam. However, in this pursuit of adventure, one aspect that can never be overlooked is safety and adherence to legal standards.

Compliance with the Department of Infrastructure’s RAV (Register of Approved Vehicles) is an imperative milestone for any manufacturer in the camper industry. In this blog post, we delve into the world of Origin Campers, exploring both their journey and commitment towards achieving Department of Infrastructure RAV compliance, and why this compliance is so essential.

All of our campers built prior to this new legislation and current builds are compliant with the Australian Design Rules. As part of new legislation, Origin Campers are now a Registered Approved Manufacturer, and all current models are listed on the Department’s Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV) and searchable here at https://rover.infrastructure.gov.au

High-quality materials and craftsmanship of an engineered-approved Chassis and A-frame translate to durability and a longer lifespan for your camper trailer. Peace of mind is priceless, and an engineered-approved chassis and A-frame is more than a choice; it’s a commitment to safety, reliability, and the freedom to explore with confidence. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or new to the world of camping, the foundation of your trailer should never be compromised.

The Go Adventure is a lightweight 540kg compact and versatile trailer designed for adventurous couples and solo travelers. The Go Adventure camper by Origin Campers is surprisingly spacious, featuring a double bed, plenty of storage space with a full length parcel shelf to one side of cabin. Thanks to its compact size and lightweight design, making it an ideal choice for those who love to travel. If you're looking for a comfortable and practical camper trailer for your next adventure, the Go Aventure rear or side entry camper is definitely worth considering.

Just like the chassis, the A-frame contributes to proper weight distribution. A well-designed A-frame helps balance the load, reducing strain on your tow vehicle and enhancing overall stability.  Engineered-approved A-frames ensure a secure hitch connection, minimizing the risk of accidents or damage while towing.

Origin Campers have their very own VIN numbers unique to us as trailer manufacturers.  Each trailer has their own stamped number on the A Frame and compliance plate.  These unique numbers are now searchable for everyone to see using the Department’s web site. https://rav.infrastructure.gov.au . This new searchable tool allows new customers and potential buyers to see individual trailer’s specifications.

Quality management systems are the bedrock upon which compliance in the camper trailer industry is built. It serves as the compass that guides manufacturers towards meeting and exceeding stringent regulatory standards. In an industry where safety is paramount, a robust quality management system ensures that every aspect of design, manufacturing, and testing adheres to the highest levels of quality and reliability. It not only guarantees that camper trailers meet the necessary safety and performance criteria but also instils confidence in consumers, assuring them that the product they invest in is backed by a commitment to excellence. Moreover, a well-implemented quality management system fosters continuous improvement, driving innovation and efficiency while minimizing risks and costly recalls. In essence, it is the linchpin that upholds compliance, safety, and customer trust.

Our camper trailers now officially meet the highest safety and regulatory standards. More than just a matter of legality, compliance is a testament to Origin Campers’ dedication to the well-being of their customers and all road users.
